A couple of weeks ago Lakes Cycles decided to try something different, we began offering custom build Bianchi XR3's with a Shimano Ultegra groupset. Why? Because Bianchi weren't doing it and it looked liked nobody else was either. Well, that has all changed with the announcement this week by Bianchi that they are going to be releasing their new Oltre XR3 road bike with the newest Ultegra groupset.
Shimano have only just announced the release of their new Ultegra series so it seems like a marriage made in heaven pairing up with the new Bianchi Oltre XR3!

Koen Bouwman, riding a Bianchi Oltre XR4, secured another remarkable win at the World Tour level at the Criterium du Dauphiné on Tuesday June 6th, continuing Bianchi riders' successful May into June, including George Bennett’s GC success at Amgen Tour of California and Jos Van Emden’s dominating performance in Giro d’Italia final time trial.

Via Nirone 7 is the address where Edoardo Bianchi had his first ever workshop. Bianchi honour these humble origins with a sub-£1,000 road. But don't let the price fool you; this is a road bike that carries with it a special place in Bianchi's hearts and, therefore, it receives the attention and quality that it deserves.
The Via Nirone 7 is made from a triple hydroformed, lightweight aluminium and fitted with Italian Campagnolo groupsets as well as Shimano. Available for both male and female riders. The endurance geometry of the frame results in the VN7 being very comfortable over long distances and, despite its price, the VN7 comes in at little over 9.7kg, which is fairly impressive.

Lakes Cycles is pleased to announce the arrival of an XR3 display bike into the store this week. This lightweight carbon road bike uses the same countervail technology as the XR4, and, it's reported, has the same frame profile as the XR1.
The XR3 is the perfect combination of style, control, and advanced aerodynamics coupled with a progressive racing geometry that make the XR3 one of the most exciting road bikes of 2017.

Bianchi Pista Sei Giorni and Pista Steel are two of the coolest single-speed bikes on the market. The Sei Giorni is built with a dedicated track frame geometry whilst the Steel maintains a more upright position with a straighter and slighty longer top tube. Both bikes have a massive 48T crankset with a speedy 16T cassete combination, making this a bike that is quick to get up to speed and to stay there!
Two excellent, although slightly different, single-speed bikes with flip-flop hubs for fixed-gear riding.

Felt's heritage is firmly embedded in racing. Starting out in the 1980's when motocross star Johnny O’Mara asked his motorcycle mechanic Jim Felt to build him a time trial bike. And, so he did! Ten years after Jim Felt built that first triathlon bike, it was time to expand. Enter Bill Duehring and Michael Mullmann. From these humble origins Felt has now evolved into a worldwide cycling company but their message has always been the same, "“We didn’t want to be the biggest bike company in the world, just the best”.
Felt Aero, Race, and Endurance road bikes are making a huge impact in the cycling world.
